Exciting new release of this Limited Edition set of one of the most iconic vehicles from the Second World War. First released in dark gray, this German 251/1 Ausf. A armored half-track vehicle has been expanded with two figures representing the field marshal and a member of the media equipped with a camera. The set also includes two standard figurines representing mechanics. Another addition is a road sign with a stand directing you to a field hospital and a package of barbed wires with connectors. The whole set is complemented by a black, laser-engraved plate with the name of the set and an individual limited edition number. The number of the plate is consistent with the paper certificate signed by the President of COBI.
This new Sd.Kfz 251/1 Ausf.A by COBI is faithfully reproduced using construction blocks. The model has been covered with high-quality durable pad-printing. The vehicle is equipped with movable wheels with realistic tires. The track traction consists of realistic block links that work and behave like the real thing while moving the vehicle. Side compartments, opening rear double doors, machine guns and additional accessories finish out this amzing set. Each was designed for very different tasks.
This German Army vehicle wasproduced from 1939 to 1945. Other combat vehicles were also built on its basis. It was produced in four production models, from A to D, and 23 basic and many field versions, of which the standard and most numerous was the Sd.Kfz.251/1 armored personnel carrier. The design of the Sd.Kfz.251 transporter was based on a modified Sd.Kfz.11 chassis. The armored hull was made of welded armor plates and consisted of two large parts joined by bolts. The front section ended behind the driver's seat. It protected the driver, commander and engine. The combat compartment opened in advance was to accommodate 10 soldiers. The rear, large, outward-opening door provided access to the interior.
