2010 Upper Deck MLS Soccer Hobby Box | 20 Packs | Factory Sealed

Twenty packs of twelve cards, and five guaranteed hits in every box: one autograph and four memorabilia cards. The 2010 Upper Deck MLS set covers Major League Soccer's fifteenth season with a 200-card base set — 175 MLS players, 15 rookies from the 2010 MLS SuperDraft, and 10 All Stars from Women's Professional Soccer. It was released on May 18, 2010.

The autograph is either an MLS Marks card, numbered to 30 or fewer, or a WPS Marks card, numbered to 100 or fewer. The WPS Marks checklist runs to twenty players and includes Marta. Two of the four memorabilia cards are single-swatch MLS or WPS Materials. The third is a Teammates dual, National Pride triple or Superstars quad card, numbered to 65 or fewer. The fourth comes from the Premium Series, with patch or team-logo material instead of plain jersey, numbered to 35 or fewer — down to 10 for the quad versions.

The WPS cards are what make this set unusual. Women's Professional Soccer began play on March 29, 2009, and this set shows it in its second season. On January 30, 2012, the league suspended its 2012 season amid a legal dispute with an ousted team owner, and in May 2012 its board ended operations for good. Its predecessor, the WUSA, had also lasted only three seasons. The WPS autographs and swatches in this box come from a league that played three seasons and no more.

The same set was also sold in a retail version, and it is a different box: 24 packs of eight cards with a single memorabilia or autograph card. The contents described here apply to the hobby box only.
