Completed around the turn of 1943 to 1944, it was never issued to a combat unit. It went to Henschel's proving ground at Haustenbeck and spent the rest of the war there being driven, measured and taken apart.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThat work mattered. The tests on V2 exposed problems with the fit of the engine air filters, with the travel lock meant to hold the gun steady on the move, and with the escape hatch in the hull floor — faults Henschel could correct before they reached the tanks sent to the front. It still carries a modified exhaust pipe fitted for one of those tests.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBritish troops captured it at Haustenbeck in 1945.
